Favorite Websites

Favorite website: Play Spent.
The site takes you through a month of trying to survive on little to no income. You're faced with tough choices like eating or paying bills. Paying $3/day to let your child eat lunch or $15 to let them go on a field trip.

It has some interesting tie ins with Facebook, if you ever find yourself in need of money you can "ask a friend" which posts to your Facebook.
Favorite website: The Wilderness Downtown
(Wilderness Downtown requires Google Chrome browser.)

Type in your childhood address, and a custom-generated music video is created featuring images of your childhood home and neighborhood, pulled from Google Maps and Street View.

Favorite website: Local Harvest
The best organic food is what's grown closest to you . Use our website to find farmers' markets, family farms, and other sources of sustainably grown food in your area, where you can buy produce, grass-fed meats, and many other goodies. Want to support this great web site? Shop in our catalog for things you can't find locally!
Favorite website: Wizardry of Harry Potter

Click on the map, and it comes to life. You can go on a flight, which is in places interactive, through the park's versions of Hogwarts school and Hogsmeade village. Click on the photos in The Wizarding World News newspaper, and they become videos, with members of the cast giving their thoughts on the park, and designers talking about its creation.

Another neat gimmick is the Owl Post, which lets you send an email that pops out to the recipient as a letter with a Hogsmeade postmark.

Favorite Website: ReadKiddoRead.com.

Titles are hand-picked by James Patterson. Patterson knows it’s not easy getting kids excited about reading. So a few years ago when he noticed that his 10-year-old son Jack was lukewarm toward books, the best-selling author decided to do something about it. First, he started writing books for kids. And more recently, he launched a new Web site devoted to promoting a love of reading.
