OBTAINING A LIBRARY CARD
ADULT LIBRARY CARD (18+ YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER)
Adult patrons aged 18 years and older must provide the following to be issued an Aldrich Free Library Adult Library Card with full privelages:
- Photo Identification
- Proof of Permanent Plainfield Residency (acceptable forms are a CT driver’s license with current address, rental receipt, voided check with preprinted name and address, recent piece of stamped mail)
- Signature claiming financial responsibility for lost, damaged, and/or late returned materials
YOUNG ADULT LIBRARY CARD (13 thru 17of age)
Young Adult patrons 16 years of age and older must provide the following to obtain an Aldrich Free Library YA Library Card with modified privileges:
- Parent or legal guardian must have a valid Aldrich Free Library Card
- Photo Identification
- Proof of Permanent Plainfield Residency (acceptable forms are a CT driver’s license with current address, rental receipt, voided check with preprinted name and address, recent piece of stamped mail)
- Signature claiming financial responsibility for lost, damaged, and/or late returned materials
YA cardholders are able to borrow all library materials including DVDs.
JUVENILE LIBRARY CARD (5 thru 12 years of age)
Juvenile patrons must be able to write their own name and have a parent or legal guardian present to obtain an Aldrich Free Library Juvenile Library Card.
Parent or Legal Guardian must provide the following:
- Photo Identification
- Proof of Permanent Plainfield Residency (acceptable forms are a CT driver’s license with current address, rental receipt, voided check with preprinted name and address, recent piece of stamped mail)
- Signature claiming financial responsibility for lost, damaged, and/or late returned materials
LIBRARY CARD FOR A HANDICAPPED PERSON
If a person is unable to sign their own name or otherwise fill out the required registration card, this may be completed by a person designated as having financial responsibility for the person requesting a library card. THE PERSON FILLING OUT AND SIGNING THE FORMS IS ACCEPTING ALL FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY RELATED TO THE LIBRARY CARD/ACCOUNT. If the financially responsible party is an agency, the name and address of the agency is required. All circulation guidelines, including fines and fees will apply.
REPLACEMENT CARD
Patrons who have had their Aldrich Free Library Cards lost/misplaced/broken/stolen must provide photo identification and pay a $3.00 replacement fee to obtain a new card
